Procurement of Apheresis Machine
Our Challenge

Mahesh Foundation established the MyBlood Charitable Blood Bank to connect blood donors with those in need. The blood bank is well-equipped with essential tools and machinery. One critical requirement, however, has been the Apheresis Machine. This machine extracts blood from the donor, separates the platelets for transfusion, and returns the remaining blood to the donor. With an Apheresis Machine, the blood bank can efficiently collect platelets while ensuring a safe and streamlined process for donors.

To address this need, we procured a Apheresis Machine with support from MSTC Limited under their CSR initiative. This specialized machine allows us to collect platelets directly from donors by drawing whole blood into a reservoir, where it separates platelets through centrifugation. In addition to benefiting donors, the Apheresis Machine reduces the risk of infectious complications and transfusion reactions in patients. It also helps minimize surgical bleeding, trauma, and other related concerns, enhancing patient safety and care quality.
